December 9th Email

Well family it is great to hear from all of you. Sounds like the weather is pretty crazy. We got out first big storm on Sunday, but that was a side note to what we woke up to in our new apartment. Probably one the worst expirences ever, it is everyones worst nightmare. It started Saturday night. Elder Baker and Schoell were to go home on This coming friday, which is a week after transfers, they were supposed to go home after christmas, but they are able to go home beofre. So they got a car and came to the island to help us out and really to say bye to people they both got to know here becuase they both served here. So Saturday night we were up late talking and I went in the bathroom to go to the bathroom and the toilet was up to the top of clear water, and I looked in the tub and there was some nasty stuff coming up the drain. Well it was about midnight and we searched the building for a phone number but nothing, so we decided to close the door and go to bed. Well in the morning it was even worse, a couple inches in the tub, the toliet was about to over flow on sewege, and the bathroom sink, and last but not least the kitchen sink was a third of the way full. It was a sewer back up. The smell was horrible, it was in the kitchen sink, how gross is that. It was ridiculous. So we asked a neighboor for a number, and that didn't work, but then the handyman guy showed up. SO we went ot the other apartment and showered and went to church. We got back around 2 and they had just got it unplugged and started to clean it up. Then they also had the carpets cleaned. They took care of it for us, but the smell was there for a bit. So that was not how I wanted to start me day. The confirmation went well, she was happy and it was good. The storm was a few inches, nothing to bad. It is now just cold sounds like about the same as you. YOu are probably getting more snow though. I am sorry but you can keep it. Brenlae who is the media refferal is doing really well. Reads from the book of mormon and really has a desire to learn. It is cool to help him. I talked to Steve Bruchett about Barnes and he knows him really well, they played alot of baseball together and he really respects him. It is cool they are moving back into Oly boundries. So their oldest daughter will be going there. I am hoping to get over there before they move back, but they haven't invited us yet, they say they are trying but it is really busy. I am going to keep droping some names that he might know to get an invite. So wish me luck. Maybe I will have them look you guys up when they get there. But that was my week. it was pretty exciting.
