August 8, 2008
Daniel received his mission call March 12, 2008. It came a couple of weeks earlier than he expected and so he was pretty nervous. He was very happy with the call he received to serve in the Canada Halifax Mission. He said he was going to go to Maine, and as fate (or inspiration) would have it, the upper 1/3 of Maine is in his mission! He went to the MTC on June 25, 2008 and arrived in Halifax on July 15th. On July 17th he was flown to island of Newfoundland and is serving in a small town called Marystown. He and his companion are the only missionaries within 4 hours of any others. A senior couple is coming shortly. They only have district meetings once a transfer, so they are pretty isolated. It has been very rainy and cool, not what he expected quite this soon. He is the Branch Clerk as his companion is the Branch President. He is in a culture shock that I don't think he really expected. But he is enjoying it very much. His companion is from Farmington and they seem to have a lot in common. So he is off and running!
